We have completed many landscaping projects throughout the North East, working with a wide variety of clients. From coastal promenades to local heritage sites and churches and schools, BCE Northern Ltd have been selected to carry out a varied amount of work in County Durham, South Tyneside and Northumberland.
Projects
St Marys Church, Whitley Bay – Landscape Works
St Mary’s Church is located in a predominantly residential area of Monkseaton, Whitley Bay. The church building underwent some improvement and redevelopment works and the vision was to create a safe, attractive and welcoming external area to benefit the congregation and wider community.
The church grounds had a garden, a grassed area and a small, consecrated area for the burial of ashes, however some areas needed urgent repair, replacement and landscaping.

Sunderland City Council appointed BCE Northern Ltd to relocate a pit wheel originally located in Albany, to a new location in Silksworth.
Work was completed on time and on budget and to the satisfaction of STC and residents who thought it was vitally important that the Silksworth community got back this piece of heritage.

Horden is a village in County Durham, England. It is situated on the North Sea coast, to the east of Peterlee. Horden was a mining village until the closure of the Horden Colliery in 1987. As the contracted organisation we work closely with the Local Authority on many schemes throughout the year and recently worked on the South Shields Promenade Connectivity Scheme. South Tyneside Council are currently regenerating the promenade in a number of phases and BCE Northern have been involved in the transformation projects since the first phase of regeneration (see Sea Change, South Shields in Special Projects).

The scope of work was to reconstruct and resurface the driveway at the Judge’s Lodgings in Plawsworth, County Durham. The work consisted the removal of the existing gravel driveway, installation of new channel drainage work, new road construction, installation of resin bonded surfacing and landscaping work to existing verges. All work carried out was completed on time and within the Client’s budget.

Morpeth Road Primary School is a new build school in Blyth, Northumberland. It was developed on the old brownfield site of Bates Colliery with access links off the existing adoptable highways. It opened in September 2011 and can accommodate up to 420 pupils.
